150 attend vigil in U.K. for murdered Vernon teen

Roughly 150 people gathered  in the the community to Chelmsford, honouring a Vernon teenager who was murdered in the United Kingdom earlier this month.

On Feb. 1, Ashley Wadsworth was found dead at the home she was staying at with her boyfriend, Jack Sepple, in Chelmsford, U.K. Sepple, 23, has been charged with Wadsworth's murder.

Wadsworth had travelled to the U.K. in November to visit Sepple, who'd she'd met online.

A vigil was held in Chelmsford, Saturday, Feb. 5 at a park on Brownings Avenue, near where she died, according to the BBC.

Julie Taylor, whose grandson Liam was murdered a few years ago, organized the vigil with the support of Wadsworth's family.

A GoFundMe started to support Wadsworth's family has raised more than $17,000 since it's creation yesterday, Feb. 5. The funds will be used to bring Wadsworth home, wrote organizers Jadine Wakefield and Tova Wadsworth, on the fundraiser's page.
