KAMLOOPS - Yesterday evening a teenage pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Westsyde.

Following the crash, the victim, 15, was taken to the hospital with a serious lower body injury, Staff Sgt. Edward Preto says in a release.

The teen was hit while using the crosswalk at Wawn Road and Westsyde Road at approximately 5 p.m, yesterday, Dec. 2.

Preto says it was dark outside and the victim was wearing dark coloured clothing. She did not use the crosswalk warning lights.

According to Preto, the driver remained on scene and cooperated with police investigations.
