Event Description

The Central Okanagan Hospice Association (COHA) warmly invites the community to its beloved annual event, The Butterfly Effect, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Falcon Ridge Farms (579 Rifle Road, Kelowna). This family-friendly event offers a touching and impactful way to remember, reflect, and reconnect by releasing a live butterfly in memory of those we have lost.
Presented by Harmony Honda, The Butterfly Effect is a deeply symbolic and heartwarming experience celebrating life, loss, and love. The release of over 400 butterflies serves as a collective tribute to cherished memories, symbolizing transformation, hope, and the enduring bonds we share with those who have passed.

“The Butterfly Effect is more than just a community event—it’s a moment to pause, reflect, and find healing together. Each butterfly we release carries with it love, remembrance, and a message of hope,” says Natasha Girard, Executive Director of COHA. “We welcome all individuals and families to join us for a day of meaning and connection.”
Butterflies are available for purchase for $55 each, or in packs of 3 for $150. The net proceeds from The Butterfly Effect will benefit COHA’s no-cost grief and bereavement services and programs for all ages.
Guests are encouraged to enjoy the peaceful outdoor setting with live music, family activities, a Memory Wall to leave messages for their loved ones, and light refreshments from local suppliers. Seating is not provided, so bringing a lawn chair or blanket is recommended; guests are also reminded to dress for the weather as this is a fully outdoor event. Golf cart shuttles will be available to bring those with mobility differences from the parking area to the event site.
The Butterfly Effect is presented by Harmony Honda, and is supported by Dignity Memorial, Van Houtte Coffee, Farming Karma Fruit Co., Capital News, Castanet Media, Vista Radio (AM 1150, 99.9 SUN FM, & GO 101.5 FM), and Stingray Radio (Country 100.7 & K 96.3FM).
