Event Description

Studio On Water in downtown Kelowna invites all communities to Queer Quick Cuts, a film night event celebrating Pride Month, featuring Kelowna-based visual artist and filmmaker Raj Jain.
Raj is a multidisciplinary artist whose stories explore identity, belonging, and cultural journeys through film and visual art. His narrative and documentary films have been screened in Toronto, Vernon, and at festivals across Canada, India, and the US. Jain’s visual art is currently exhibited in the Okanagan Valley, with upcoming international showcases in Pitt Meadows, Germany and the Czech Republic.
"It’s special to me, coming from a small town, to screen these films in Kelowna because it’s different from big cities,” Jain said. “It’s my pride to present this. This night is for everyone—whether you’re gay, straight, bi, curious, whatever you are. It’s about stories and connection.”
Queer Quick Cuts Film Night will take place on Saturday, June 28, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Studio On Water, 1302 Water Street, Kelowna. The evening will feature Jain’s award-winning short films on themes of self-discovery, family, and love: The Musk Deer, 14.02, and Ammi.
Studio On Water’s Creative Director/Founder Cherie Rousson said, “We’re proud to support local artists and create a space where all stories are welcome. We invite everyone to join us for this evening of connection and creativity.”
The event will also include a Q&A with Jain and a display of his visual art focused on resilience and personal journeys. Original paintings and art prints will be available for purchase. Free beverages.
Queer Quick Cuts Film Night is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
