Event Description

Please join us for an evening of information, connection, and discussion. The Okanagan is the workplace of many migrant workers, mostly hidden from societal view. There are approximately 16,000 farmworkers that come to BC each year to work in our orchards and farms. Doors open at 5:30pm, event will start at 6pm. Two volunteers from RAMA (Radical Action with Migrants in Agriculture), Amy Cohen and Robyn Bunn, will explain the migrant worker program and the challenges that migrant workers face. We are honoured to have Juan Moguel, a migrant worker from Mexico, who will be sharing their experience as a farmworker in the Okanagan. Learn how to make the experience of migrant workers coming to Canada a positive one and actions you can take to make a difference.
