We are excited to welcome J. Mauricio to our "Instructor Spotlight" series - a bi-weekly livestream event where you'll meet some of our amazing instructors and get a glimpse into their lives as artists and educators. Gnomon's instructors are working professionals who bring unique experiences and perspectives into the classroom, and Mauricio is no exception! As a Lead Animator, he has brought the art of animation to a variety of games and studios throughout the industry. As a Gnomon instructor, Mauricio teaches his students how to bring game characters to life through compelling acting, movement, and emotion. During this interview, we will talk with Mauricio about his journey as an artist, what it is like to work as an animator in games, and what you can expect when learning from him at Gnomon. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask your questions in the chat! Immediately following the interview, our host Adam Hartel will share a brief informational session about the Gnomon student experience and the various careers for artists within the Visual Effects, Animation, and Games industries.
