Event Description
November is Indigenous Disability Awareness Month As part of the launch of the Canadian Institute for Inclusion and Citizenship, please join us at this celebratory event recognizing the valuable contributions that Indigenous persons living with disabilities bring to our communities. Special Guest Madeline Terbasket, Syilx, Ho-Chunk, Anishinaabe Performing Artist Madeline Terbasket is a Syilx, Ho-Chunk, Anishinaabe performing artist that explores themes of cultural identity and mental health in their work. Madeline began filmmaking as a teenager in their home territory of the Similkameen Valley in the South Okanagan. This event is proudly co-hosted by the BC Aboriginal Network on Disability Society and the Canadian Institute for Inclusion and Citizenship in partnership with Okanagan Nation Alliance, UBCO Aboriginal Programs and Services & UBCO Disability Resource Centre.
