Event Description

Homes Decorated in Holiday Spirit for Local Fundraiser - Homes for the Holidays returns virtually for 2021 Last year due to covid restrictions, Homes for the Holidays moved to virtual format providing the opportunity for ticket holders across the country and around the globe to tour private homes decorated for the holidays. People tuned in from Scotland, Arizona, California, Newfoundland and all over B.C. to view the tour, sharing the experience with their family and friends curled up on the couch. The Homes for the Holidays tour has traditionally been a self-guided tour of private homes all decked out for the Christmas season while raising funds for the Central Okanagan Hospice Association (COHA). With the huge success of last year’s virtual tour, we are back again with a virtual format and have added a second screening to accommodate demand. The online tour will allow viewers to participate remotely from home and to safely share the event experiences with family and friends, retaining the universal appeal of our traditional home tour event. The home tours are professionally pre-produced programs to be watched with your friends or family on Saturday, November 27 at 6:45 pm or Sunday, December 5 at 2:00 pm. You can enjoy the show on your phone, laptop, tablet or smart tv as our homeowners host their own tours, giving you the inside scoop on their holiday style and décor. We are excited to reveal our 2021 virtual edition of Homes for the Holidays and the generous homeowners who will be opening their doors to our cameras and tour guests. • With a background in special events and catering, Brittany Saari has translated these skills into her interior decorating and renovation of her new home. There is a big surprise with this home but we’re not spilling the tea quite yet! • Award-winning Interior Designer and Decorator Courtney Ungaro has been a tour favourite over the years decorating her client’s homes with her clean modern style. This year, Courtney is taking us inside her own home with its warm, modern, coastal vibes. • This home could be in Tuscany with its natural stone fireplaces, large wooden doors, and an expansive loggia overlooking the vineyard but it’s located here in southeast Kelowna. Recently featured in a Hallmark movie as a stand-in for a winery in Napa, Dawn Reimer will take us inside for a look at old world Christmas charm. • Last year, Erin van den Brink, Rylie Oishi and Claire MacLeod watched the first virtual Homes for the Holidays tour dreaming that one day perhaps one of their homes would be on the tour. With the pandemic bringing them together as roommates they are opening up their boho vintage style home that also contains a big 70’s surprise. • Christmas is for the ‘littles’ and Alana Denham is creating a magical space for her children with her own unique fashionable style. Between the individual home tours we have reached out to local experts to share their tips of preparing for the holiday season. As we are planning to do a little entertaining this holiday season, Kelly Hale from A Taste of the Okanagan has partnered with Breanna MacDonald of TableFortyNine to demonstrate how to build your very own grazing board, Katie Cataldi of Intrigue Wines will be pouring herself a glass of sparkling wine and will share her tips for creating easy to make holiday cocktails, while lifestyle and home blogger Jamie Krause decorates her mantle with three different looks. Award-winning makeup artist Jenny McKinney will have us brushing up on our brushes for festive makeup looks and Registered Dietician, cookbook co-author and food and lifestyle blogger Tori Wesszer of Fraiche Living will share how to set your table in style, complete with homemade cut-out gingerbread cookie place settings. Keeping it all in perspective, Jessica Hughes of the Central Okanagan Hospice Association will be encouraging us to take time for a bit of self-care during this busy season. This Homes for the Holidays virtual event will give you endless ideas of how to celebrate this holiday season.
