Event Description

From its first appearance to power the time-travelling DeLorean in Back to the Future, across a range of blockbuster films in the intervening decades, fusion is a topic that has inspired numerous inventions in science fiction. Is cold fusion - encountered in The Saint, Chain Reaction and Spider Man II - possible? Could Iron Man's suit really be powered by a miniature fusion reactor? Or will fusion give us new ways to power spacecraft, as we see in Passengers? Join PhD students from the Fusion Centre for Doctoral Training at the University of York to explore the facts and fictions behind this exciting technology as they present their popular podcast, A Glass of Seawater. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is a YouTube Premiere event.
