Event Description

n honour of Truth and Reconciliation day, Ella Lamoureux and Rez Daddy have created a special one-time show, with proceeds going to two charities that are near and dear to their hearts. Taking place at the Creekside Theater in Lake Country on September 30th, this won’t be your regular drag show. While it’ll still be a lot of fun, expect some honest conversations, a diverse cast and some indigenous education while the show takes place.
“Doing this fundraiser with Rez Daddy is important to me as it helps to continue to bring awareness to indigenous causes. Showcasing indigenous artists is a great way to bring people together! I’m really looking forward to this event” says Ella Lamoureux.
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honors the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
All proceeds from the event will be split and donated to both the IRSSS and 2 Spirits in Motion charities. Rebellious Unicorns are pleased to be supporting the curation of this event and are honoured to be able to support indigenous creators.
