The CFUW Vernon monthly meeting on February 24, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Schubert Centre (3505 30th Ave) will feature speakers from Take a Hike. Evan Berger, Mental Health Clinician, and Lenai Moore, Interior Region Program Manager, will give a presentation about this exciting alternative education program that is being offered in Vernon in association with School District #22. Following an evidence-based model, Take a Hike works with vulnerable young people who need support in order to achieve success as they define it. In the classroom, students receive individual support through experiential learning. A mental health clinician also works with students daily, and each week one day is devoted to learning outdoors. The group forms a community as the students progress through the program to achieve the goals they have set for themselves. Join us to find out more about this valuable work.
