Okanagan Artists of Canada Society Celebrates 80th Anniversary with “Art in the Mall” Vernon, BC – The Okanagan Artists of Canada Society (OACS) is set to launch its highly anticipated “Art in the Mall”exhibition at Village Green Shopping Centre from April 1 to April 30, 2024. This exciting showcase will feature an array of original works from talented North Okanagan artists, offering art lovers the opportunity to admire and purchase unique pieces. Contact details for participating artists will be available for those interested in acquiring artwork. This marks the twelfth time that Village Green Shopping Centre has generously supported OACS, providing a welcoming space to highlight local artistic talent. “The Village Green Shopping Centre has shown tremendous community spirit and ongoing support for our group,” said OACS Vice President Patricia Doyle. As OACS celebrates 80 years of fostering creativity, the society continues to uphold its motto: "Artists Helping Artists." Founded in 1945 as the Vernon Artist Association, the non-profit has grown to 85 members from Vernon and surrounding communities, with many more on a waiting list. In addition to its spring and fall exhibitions at the mall, OACS hosts a major annual art show each November at the Vernon Community Arts Centre.
