Event Description

May 5, 10am-4pm In Juniper, the first Sunday of May brings people from all over to reuse, recycle, re-purpose and make deals at the Juniper Garage Sale! The Community Association helps support this event to make it enjoyable and successful for all! FOOD: The Overlanders Lions Club will be hosting their BBQ Concession at the school. All proceeds of sales go to local not for profit groups and organizations. Selling of homemade foods and drinks is discouraged unless you have Food Safe Certification, or the food is made in a Food Safe Certified kitchen. If you intend to sell food on your property, it should be sealed (i.e. chips, water, pop, etc.) please ensure you are not violating Interior Health public health regulations. Food trucks operating under their business permit are welcome to participate. MAP: We will be sharing a map for participants and visitors. If you paid your community dues and would like your garage sale address on the map, email junipergaragesale@gmail.com your street address (i.e. 1234 Anywhere Street) on or before May 1, 2019. The map will include participating garage sale locations as well as locations for food, waste collection, and washrooms. It will be provided both online and printed. TRAFFIC: Residents should anticipate a large increase in both vehicular and foot traffic on this day. If you intend to leave Juniper during the event, allow for extra time and plan accordingly. Watch for pedestrians and kids on roadways. Please check BC Transit Alerts page and confirm buses are running past the roundabout. In previous years, the bus schedule has been temporary closed during 10 am and 4 pm with pick up at drop off only available at the top of Highland Road. SECURITY: Do not entice criminals by leaving expensive items in view in your garage or property. Ensure your property is re-secured following the event. VISITORS: Be kind and patient with visitors to our community! Help direct visitors to the washrooms located at the School and Juniper Park. City of Kamloops will provide Garbage bins and Recycling bins at the school parking lot.
