Craft beer, gaming and music festivals kick off in Okanagan and Kamloops this weekend
With so many events and festivals happening in Kamloops and the Okanagan this coming weekend there should be something to suit everyone’s interests.
Here are just a few options to consider.
Penticton Beer Week is a celebration of the local craft brewing industry and showcases eight craft breweries in the area, some of which are the oldest breweries in the province.
There will be ongoing events at all the breweries along with other eateries and venues around the city including barrel beer releases, comedy shows, live music, craft and pretzel making workshops and more. Merchandise like vintage beer shirts will be available at the Penticton Visitor Centre.
The fifth annual Penticton Beer Week runs all day, every day from Friday, Oct. 13 to Sunday, Oct. 22. All of the event details can be found here.
Tickets are still available for the annual Kelowna’s BreakOut West 2023 music festival that features over 60 musical acts of all different genres from western Canada and across the globe.
Party goers can hop around six participating venues across the three night festival and listen to live hip hop, country, folk and pop.
A big part of the festival is a music industry conference offering panels, mentoring sessions, industry mixers and songwriting workshops with music industry professionals.
BreakOut West 2023 runs from Thursday, Oct. 12 through to Saturday, Oct. 14. Go here for a list of the artists and venues, to purchase tickets or find more information for the conference.
Winter enthusiasts preparing for the coming ski season might want to check out the Vernon Ski Swap as it's the BC Interior’s largest ski swap and offers used alpine and Nordic ski equipment for all levels of skiers at consignment prices.
Note, in order to maintain security backpacks, large purses or bulky jackets cannot be worn into the swap.
The doors are open at the Vernon Recreation Centre at 3310 37 Ave. from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14. More information can be found here.
