Phoenix Rises Counselling & Consulting

207-1301 S Main St
Penticton BC V2A 5E9
According to mythology, the Phoenix is a bird resembling an eagle that lived for 500 years and then burned itself to death on a pyre from whose ashes another phoenix arose. We chose this symbol as our brand name because the Phoenix symbol represents the depth and breadth of transformation that is possible when one is willing to engage in the process.

“That, out of the ashes of life’s seemingly impossible circumstances, core transformation of the self; of relationships; of family; of business; and of career or work is indeed possible, thus creating a new path, a new purpose, a new passion for life and living, no matter what age or stage of life in which one find oneself. The Phoenix Rises symbol captures all the elements of rebirth, new life, union of the yin and yang, gentleness, grace, power, prosperity, vision, fervent excitement and enduring inspiration. It captures all that we are and hope to bring to those we serve.” – Diane Monteith and Sandra Forsyth

A Vibrant Private Practice in Both Cities & Surrounding Areas

Our Roots in Calgary

The counselling partnership was launched in 1985 when Diane Monteith began her private practice in Calgary. Sandra Forsyth joined her in 1987, and together in record time, they built a vibrant, flourishing, full-time counselling practice. Its establishment for over 30 years speaks to their professionalism and success.

Reflection on the many individual client outcomes of transformation and healing led Diane and Sandra to adopt the phoenix symbol and create Phoenix Rises for their corporate identity, as an true reflection of their work.

In 2015, Diane and Sandra were pleased to welcome Lisa Boag-Guidi, a seasoned therapist, into the Calgary practice.

Now located at Phoenix Rises Inc. Counselling & Consulting, Centre 70, Suite 400, 7015 Macleod Tr. S., in an easily accessed, centrally positioned part of Calgary.

Successful Expansion to Penticton

In 2008 they expanded their practice to Penticton and the Okanagan Valley and in May 2015 Diane and Sandra’s long-time colleague and friend Lyn McDonald joined the team.
