An 82-unit condo project in Kamloops got approval from the City nearly two years ago. Work hasn't started yet, but now it's up for sale.

The Pineview neighbourhood development includes two planned buildings with 41 homes each. Fraserview Development Corp. got its development permit in August 2021, but so far only started preliminary earthworks.

The property is advertised by Avison Young for $3.7 million at 1800 Copperhead Drive. It would be one of the largest projects in a neighbourhood of mostly single family homes.

Fraserview proposed a building concept that included 52 one-bedroom units and 30 two-bedrooms within the two three-storey buildings.

Dozens wrote to the City in opposition to the new development, voicing concerns for their property values, privacy and increased traffic in the area. Another 152 signed a petition opposing it.

City council, however, approved the project in August 2021 with a 4-2 vote. One councillor was absent and another stepped away from the vote citing a conflict.
