iN VIDEO: Bighorn herd takes its time crossing road in West Kelowna
Traffic was stalled at Bear Creek Provincial Park in West Kelowna recently when a large herd of bighorn sheep took their time crossing the road.
The people in a vehicle held up by the majestic wildlife seemed pretty happy to be witnessing the spectacle. In this video of the encounter, the driver puts the four-way flashers on and the passenger can be seen taking photos or video.
Cindy Vipond, who recorded the spectacle from the side of the road, said it was the biggest herd she's ever seen.
"I’ve observed the big horn herds in the past and am thrilled that traffic stops and hikers clear the way for them," Vipond said. "Okanagan people are respectful for the space they need to thrive. Gotta love that."
