Coquihalla expected to reopen between Hope and Merritt at 5 p.m.
The Coquihalla will stay closed between Hope and Merritt for at least another couple hours.
DriveB.C.'s latest update says there is still a high avalanche hazard on Highway 5 between the two communities so the road will remain closed in both directions, but it's expected to reopen at 5 p.m.
It was initially closed down yesterday afternoon, Feb. 4, after a 70-centimetre snowfall.
