The first annual Okanagan Hot Chocolate Festival is giving hot chocolate lovers an opportunity to enjoy local gourmet, specialty drinks all while supporting a local charity.

“The Okanagan's most talented cafes, restaurants and specialty shops present delicious and wild hot chocolate concoctions with paired confections throughout the valley,” the Okanagan Hot Chocolate Festival Facebook page said.

Food Tours Kelowna and Valrhona Chocolate are collaborating to bring the hot chocolate experience to residents in the Okanagan from Jan. 17 until Feb. 14.

Participants can vote for their favourite hot chocolate creation for the chance to win a prize.

Proceeds from the festival are being raised for the Mamas for Mamas charitable organization in support of mothers and caregivers who are in crisis.

The organization provides support for families and single parents who are facing poverty-related challenges.
