Dangerous driving conditions expected on the Okanagan Connector on Sunday
Travellers should watch out for blowing snow on the Okanagan Connector on Sunday.
Environment Canada put out an alert warning the public about blowing snow causing near zero visibility on Highway 97C on Feb. 25.
Wind speeds are expected to reach between 40 and 70 km/h between Merritt and Kelowna creating dangerous driving conditions.
“A storm system crossing BC this weekend will bring strong wind and snow to southern B.C. interior, especially over high mountain passes. Strong winds on Sunday coupled with flurries will bring near zero visibility at times especially near the summit. Conditions will improve through Sunday night to Monday morning,” Environment Canada said in its alert.
