Kamloops woman involved in crash near Vernon facing drunk driving charges
A 24-year-old Kamloops woman blew twice the legal limit after a head-on collision in north of Vernon.
Police were called to the two-vehicle collision on Highway 97 near the intersection of Irish Creek Road in Spallumcheen around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, according to an RCMP media release.
RCMP said a Volkswagen travelling northbound crossed the centre line and crashed head-on with a southbound Acura. Minor injuries were reported.

A Kamloops woman, who was allegedly driving the Volkswagen, displayed signs of impairment, police said. Her breath samples registered twice the legal limit.
She was released from custody and is expected to appear in court at a future date.
RCMP said upon completion of the impaired driving investigation, the findings will be forwarded to the B.C. Prosecution Service.
