For the second time in a month, a video of a dangerous pass by a transport truck driver has gained the attention of the provincial Commercial Vehicle and Safety Enforcement agency.

There is still a chance that a June 10 video involving a DCT Chambers truck will lead to disciplinary action.

“Both companies involved in the June 10th incident have been cooperative and have taken corrective action with the drivers involved,” states an email to iNFOnews.ca from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. “No sanctions have yet been issued against the companies.”

DCT Chambers has, again, refused to talk to iNFOnews.ca about what actions they have or have not taken.

“At this point, the management is not making any comments on the story,” a woman who answered the phone in DCT Chambers’ Vernon office told iNFOnews.ca after conferring with management. “For us, it’s been taken care of.”

That video showed the DCT Chambers truck attempting to pass on a double solid line on a corner along Highway 97 south of 100 Mile House.

The filming truck pulls up beside it on the inside and appears to be passing when the video is cut off.

The latest incident was on Highway 5 north of Clearwater on June 26. It showed a tractor trailer hauling pipes passing not only the escort truck that filmed it but also another transport truck on a blind corner.

“Commercial Vehicle and Safety Enforcement is aware of the June 26th video and is working to identify the carrier,” the email from the Ministry of Transportation says.
