Police were called to a Kamloops home this morning after a man was heard screaming inside.

Two people were taken to hospital after what Kamloops RCMP said was a targeted assault today, April 29.

RCMP were called to the 1600 block of Lac Le Jeune Road around 7:45 a.m. to the sound of a man screaming. While on the way, more reports suggesting there was an assault and weapons were involved, according to a news release.

The people taken to hospital have injuries that are not life-threatening, but police didn't say what sort of weapons were involved.

No other information about the incident was provided in the news release. Police remain on the scene into the afternoon.
