One dead in North Okanagan ATV crash
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a fatal ATV crash in the North Okanagan last night.
According to a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media release, a 47-year-old Quesnel man overshot a corner and went over an embankment while driving an ATV in the 100 block of Shuswap Falls Road near Lumby.
Another person who was riding an ATV with the man went to a nearby residence and called for help. Police got the call at around 7:30 p.m. yesterday, July 25.
Rescuers tried to save the man, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"While the cause of the collision remains under investigation, alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the incident," Vernon North Okanagan RCMP spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski said in the release.
No other details have been released by RCMP.
