John’s practice is litigation-based, the practice has an emphasis on serving the forestry and motor transport industries. John has appeared in all levels of court in the province and before many administrative tribunals. John has also acted as counsel in mediations and arbitrations. John has been practicing law in Kamloops since 1987. In 1994 he established his own law corporation, Drayton Law Firm, which is part of Gibraltar Law Group. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of British Columbia. John follows a long tradition of law within his family. His great grandfather, William Savage, practiced law in Vancouver from 1906 to 1956. His grandmother, Helen Drayton, started practicing law in 1932 when it was quite uncommon for women to do that. John enjoys sailing and curling. He and his wife are proud parents of three children.
