It’s June, but the weather is making it feel like winter at higher alpine locations.

Skiers or snowboards who just can’t let go of the winter sport can choose to strap on their gear this weekend at a Vancouver Island ski resort.

Mt. Washington Alpine Resort is open this weekend for both skiing and ziplining, June 18 and 19.

Weather permitting, the Whiskey Jack Chair will spin from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. offering access to limited terrain including the Coaster and the Terrain Park.

The Eagle's Flight ZipTour will also be open for tours hourly, soaring high above the skiers and snowboarders enjoying slushy spring laps below, according to a press release issued by the resort.

Season pass holders from winter 2021/22 or those who purchased passes early for winter 2022/23 will receive complimentary lift access for this weekend. Single-day lift tickets will also be offered for all ages at the ticket windows for $29, and all fathers ski for free.

More information can be found on the resort's website.

Snowshoeing is also being offered in the Interior at Sun Peaks Ski Resort near Kamloops.
