A new wildfire burning to the southwest of Revelstoke is suspected to be human caused.

The B.C. Wildfire Service said the fire is located roughly 25 kilometres southwest of the city, and south of Three Valley Lake.

It is roughly 240 hectares in size, classified as out of control and is highly visible to Revelstoke and surrounding areas.

The service said the cause is under investigation but it's suspected to be human caused.

The fire was discovered July 14.
