PENTICTON - A wildfire that broke out in the South Okanagan yesterday evening is under control.

B.C. Wildfire spokesperson Marla Catherall says the Wolfcub Creek wildfire, which broke out east of Oliver yesterday evening, May 28, is now 5.1 hectares in size and not anticipated to grow.

Catherall says 26 firefighters and two pieces of heavy equipment are on site today. The fire has been 100 per cent guarded and fire suppression efforts are being aided by the presence of a creek nearby.

No structures are at risk at this time.

The fire was actioned by air tankers shortly after its discovery yesterday evening.
