Kelowna is traffic cop central.

This week and next week, members of the B.C. Highway Patrol are gathering for motorcycle training.

The officers with the motorcycle traffic unit are doing their annual re-qualification in Kelowna.

Residents may have seen them riding around the community and wondering what's up, according to a media release issued today, June 16, by Kelowna RCMP.

The cops are using a parking lot at the UBC Okanagan campus as their home base, which will also be where they will be doing some training exercises.

No word if they are handing out “training” traffic tickets.
