Wet weekend expected for Kamloops

Break out the umbrellas, Kamloops because there's plenty of rain in the weekend forecast.

Environment Canada has issued a weather alert for the Yellowhead Highway, with a forecast for heavy wet snow totalling around 10 cm expected to fall tonight.

Today, Kamloops can expect a mix of sun and cloud with increasing cloudiness this afternoon.

Today’s high of 9 Celsius is expected to be followed by clouds and a 60 per cent chance of showers overnight, with a low to 6 C.

Friday should see clouds with a 60 per cent chance of showers, with winds becoming west at 30 km/h gusting to 50 late in the morning.

Friday’s high should reach 12 C with a low to 1 C overnight.

The Kamloops weekend looks wet, with increasing cloudiness Saturday followed by periods of rain overnight.

Saturday’s high should reach 9 C with a low of 3 C overnight.

Periods of rain are also forecast for Sunday, with a high of 10 C and a low of 3 C.

A mix of sun and cloud should prevail from Monday through Wednesday next week, with a high of 12 C Monday and 9 C Tuesday and Wednesday.

Overnight lows are expected to dip to 1 C on Monday and Tuesday night.

Kamloops’ normal high and low for this time of year is 13 C and 3 C.
