WEST KELOWNA - The Warriors started with a big first goal, but ended up getting smoked out.

Late in Period 1, Brayden Gelsinger would make a great play to keep the puck in at the line with his glove. His pass to Jordan Masters would then find Jason Cotton, who fed Kyle Marino at the point.

Marino, who was without a goal on the season, would pick the corner over the shoulder of Brett Clark for his 1st in the BCHL to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.

Trail did not waste any time in the middle frame as just 1:17 into the period Charlie Zuccharini would fly into the zone and dangle to the backhand to beat Michael Lenko who was making his 3rd start for the Warriors this year.

The Smoke Eaters would get another one 45 seconds later as Connor Brown-Maloski put a bouncing puck over the line to make it 2-1 Trail.

West Kelowna would tie it up again at 3:07 when Kylar Hope got his 8th of the season on a deflection from a nice 2 on 1 pass from Liam Blackburn.

The Trail power-play would click twice late in the frame when Scott Davidson scored a pair of goals in the final 5:04 of the 2nd period to make it 4-2 Trail after 40.

The Warriors would get within 1 goal again early in the 3rd when Cotton scored a power-play goal, but an unfortunate break 5 minutes later lead to Max Newton restoring a 2 goal lead.

Trail would add a pair down the stretch as Zuccarini got his 2nd of the night, and Harlan Orr scored shorthanded.

Shots on goal finished 33-28 West Kelowna.

The Warriors will get a rematch with the Smokies on Tuesday at Royal Lepage Place, when all tickets will be just FIVE BUCKS! Come check out some great Junior Hockey.
