KAMLOOPS — With summer approaching next month, the City of Kamloops and Fortis B.C. are offering funding to anyone who wants to organize a block party for their neighbourhood.

The block party funding is available to any Kamloops resident, the City says in a news release. Successful applicants will receive up to $1,750 to cover the cost of food, music and entertainment.

Only four grants will be awarded and applications are due by June 7.

Fortis B.C. and the City are funding these parties to help neighbourhood associations and community members come together.

Representatives from Fortis B.C. will also be at the events to talk about rebates for energy-efficient home renovations.

For more information contact the City’s community energy specialist Derek de Candole at 250-828-3545 or to request an application visit the City’s website here.
