Canadian Cancer Society

Relay For Life Organizing Committee – Are you a leader and a team player? Getting involved with Relay For Life will allow you to gain or enhance your leadership skills in event planning, networking, leadership, and project management. We are looking for energetic, organized volunteers to join our team in many different roles: leadership chair, team development, event development, fundraising development, survivor development. 16+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313

Volunteer Kamloops

Office Reception Volunteer - The volunteers will perform reception duties, answer phones, greet and direct clients, data entry, print/fax/copy, and more. The volunteers must be computer literate, and have good communication and English skills. 19+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313
Canadian Mental Health Association – Kamloops
Computer Maintenance Support Volunteer – The volunteer will maintain 7 computers in the Clubhouse that are specifically for the use of our members. Duties include: troubleshooting, cleaning the computers including cache, cookies, and temporary internet files. The position will be for one to two hours once a week. The volunteer will also be available to answer the members’ questions, concerns, and for support. 19+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313

AIM Foundation

Fundraising Team Member – The volunteer will be responsible for assisting the Fundraising Coordinator with fundraising activities and events; working as a team; knowledge of the mandate of the AIM Foundation; and bringing forward any fundraising ideas or opportunities to the team meet.  Position will require good communication skills, team player, dealing with the general public, numeracy and computer skills and dependability. 13+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313

Hamlets at Westsyde

Recreation Volunteer – The Hamlets provides assisted living and complex care services for seniors and young adults with acquired brain injuries. Volunteers are needed for one-to-one visits, program support, walk and roll visits, helping staff with outings, and the buddy program. 16+ to volunteer. 250-372-831

Interior Community Services

Volunteer Mover – Volunteers will assist in moving, and transporting items to/from our facilities within the Kamloops area. Volunteers must have their own truck, be able to physically lift heavy items, have a valid driver’s license, and a clear driver’s abstract. A tax receipt will be issued for kilometers travelled. 19+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313

Overlander Ski Club

Various Positions - Groomers: must hold a valid BC’s driver’s license and be flexible with hours to operate machinery according to weather conditions. Trail Maintenance: must be in good physical condition. May need to know chain saw operation or be able to pull seedlings, trim shrubs and brush from trails, Loppet Volunteers: Aid Station Attendants, Parking Attendants and Refreshment Assistants. 16+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313

Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Restore Volunteers - Looking for dedicated, self-directed volunteers to help in our retail outlet, organizing, stocking shelves, cleaning and assisting customers with items being dropped off and purchased and cashier duties. 14+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313

Ridgeview Lodge

Recreation Volunteers – Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of recreational programs including: Crib, Board Games, Bingo, Sing-a-longs, Dancing, Crafts, Outdoor Walks, Special Events or 1-to-1 visits. Volunteers will also assist in transporting the residents in wheelchairs to the programs, and assist the staff with serving refreshments, and with the programs. Volunteers are especially needed to help with Bingo on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 pm, and on Fridays for their Happy Hour from 2-4 pm. The Volunteers will be reliable, responsible, have good communications skills, be punctual, and be able to physically push a wheelchair. The location is 920 Desmond Street. 17+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313

Wildlife Park

Facilities Assistants – The volunteers will assist our Facilities Department with: regular park maintenance (raking, weeding, etc.), assembling and dismantling special event displays, and building or repairing enclosures. The volunteers must be able to follow directions with limited supervision and be physically fit. 14+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313

Simply the Best Thrift Store

Thrift Store Volunteers – A variety of positions are available: Sort/Organize Donations, Cashiers, Maintain Retail Displays, Assist Customers and more. There will be a hands on orientation and training available to all volunteers. Due to dedicated individuals like you, Simply the Best is able to provide affordable housing and operate personalized services to benefit individuals in our community. 18+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313
