Victim of dangerous driver asked by Kamloops RCMP to come forward

KAMLOOPS - Though the Kamloops RCMP have managed to track down the suspect in a hit and run yesterday morning, they are still trying to find the victim.

The Mounties are looking for witnesses who saw a car sideswipe a white GMC pick-up around 8:30 a.m. yesterday, Sept. 11, on the West Trans Canada Highway near the Highway 5 North exit. They are also trying to track down the driver of the pick-up.

The cops says the car hit the truck while going at an excessive speed before trying to take the Highway 5 exit but ended up in the ditch after losing control. The truck driver stopped momentarily but then continued driving.

The driver of the car was fined for driving without due care and attention but the police still can't find the victim. The pick-up driver and anybody else who saw the crash but haven't spoken to police is asked to call 250-828-3000.
