VERNON - When Tobi-Lee Kral looked out the window Tuesday morning at her brand new Toyota RAV4, she started to scream.

Scrawled on the side of the white car in large black spray paint were the words “fuck you.”

Kral bought the car — her first new vehicle in a long time — just two weeks earlier.

“It just makes your faith in mankind go downhill,” she says.

She says it was an inconvenience and an expense to have the spray paint professionally removed, and the ordeal also took over her day.

Kral had to take the day off to get the spray paint removed.

“I had to take the day off work because I couldn’t drive it that way,” she says.

While she doesn’t know who did it, she believes it was targeted.

“I don’t think it’s random at all. Nothing else in the neighbourhood was tagged, just my car,” Kral says.

Without going into specifics, she says she gave a few names to police and hopes the culprit is held responsible. She believes it may be related to her job as a retail manager, but doesn’t know for sure.

“To be targeted like that… it breaks my heart. I’m not that type of person. I do my job. I go home. I’m a normal person, I’m not vindictive. It’s just ridiculous,” she says.

The incident would have happened sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. July 4 on 42A Street, Kral says.

“If anyone saw or heard anything, report it to the police and we can catch this person,” she says, adding she will be installing video surveillance.

Asked what she might say the person behind the vandalism if given the opportunity, Kral held her tongue.

“I can’t say that on record,” she says.
