Vernon RCMP seek witnesses after early morning break-in

Vernon RCMP is asking the public for help after a business was broken into in the early hours of this morning.

According to a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media release, the break-in took place in the 3500-block of 27 Street but the RCMP do not name the business.

RCMP got the call about the break-in at 4 a.m. and believe it took place between midnight and 2 a.m. Nov. 9.

Police say a person forced their way into the business and stole a number of items.

"Frontline officers secured the scene and the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section is assisting with a detailed examination and the collection of any physical evidence to support the investigation," the release says.

Vernon RCMP is appealing for witnesses who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area between midnight and 2 a.m. or urging anyone that may have information about the break-in to call the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 or call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip at
