KELOWNA - A 29-year-old man is facing drug trafficking charges after RCMP seized quantities of suspected illicit drugs during an arrest yesterday afternoon.

Vincent Dean Lyons faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking after drug section members of the Kelowna RCMP street enforcement unit seized suspected cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, thousands of dollars in cash and items consistent with drug trafficking during an arrest on Aug. 21 in the 2100 block of Springfield Road just before 2:30 p.m.

“The Kelowna RCMP street enforcement unit remains fully committed to improving all aspects of public safety across the Okanagan and will continue to take the necessary actions to effectively remove these harmful substances from our streets, Kelowna RCMP Cpl. Jeff Caroll says in a media release.

Lyons is from Vernon and also faces additional potential charges and appeared in court earlier today, Aug. 22.
