VERNON - A 27-year-old man was arrested last night after breaking into a neighbour's home in Vernon and stabbing him in the arm.

The incident took place just before 10 p.m. yesterday, June 4, at a home on Centennial Drive, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP say the 27-year-old man allegedly broke into a property blocks away from his own home and stabbed the 24-year-old occupant in the arm. The wounded man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"Officers quickly converged on another residence, just blocks away, where the suspect was known to live. The suspect male was located and taken into custody without incident," Vernon RCMP spokesperson Const. Kelly Brett said in the release. "This was a very targeted attacked involving all parties that are known to one another."

The suspect remains in custody and is facing possible charges of break and enter with intent, and assault causing bodily harm.
