Looking for ideas about what to do with Dad on Father's Day?

Here are some of the events happening in and around Vernon catering to fathers... or events that Dad would enjoy.

One of the most popular Vernon Father's Day event is the Wings and Wheels show at the Vernon Airport organized by the Rotary Club of Vernon Silver Star. It's a family fun filled day with airplane exhibits, demonstrations, a car show and a magic show.

There are free flights for kids 8 to 17 and children 12 and under get in free if you use the coupon on the Wings and Wheels website.

Adults pay $10 to get in while a family pay $25. All the money raised will go to support community and international projects.

The Wings and Wheels event goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 16th.

The Okanagan Science Centre is honouring fathers, grandfathers and male mentors.

On Saturday, June 15th at 1 p.m., it's Saturday Serious Fun.

You can make a special paper airplane Father's Day card and enjoy some target practice with a motorized paper airplane launcher.

It's free for fathers, grandfathers and male mentors accompanied by at least one paying child, but only one free male adult per child. Rules are rules.

You can always found on Davison Orchards for family fun.

This weekend for Father's Day, they are offering free Johnny Popper tours for everyone.

The orchard will also be having an Apple Cider Sausage barbecue lunch with all you can eat pies and beans. They'll be charging $11.95.

Fathers swim for free at the Vernon Recreation Centre on Father's Day.

Like most of the free activities for fathers, it comes with a caveat. Each dad has to be accompanied by a kid who pays the regular rate.

The swim runs from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
