The sight of Vernon’s old legion could be used to build Vernon’s tallest building to date if approved by City Council next week.

On Monday, Nov. 6, Vernon’s City Council will consider a proposal for rezoning before building the six-storey building.

The location, on the corner of 31 Avenue and 33 Street, is currently a heritage business district but must be rezoned to a central business district so the construction of this new building can go forward.

The building would be more than 15 metres high making it Vernon’s tallest building with 95 residential units as well as commercial spaces.

Vernon’s City Council meets Nov. 6, at 1:30 p.m. to discuss many matters including the approval of this proposal.
