PENTICTON — The Vees hockey team added three new players to its roster this week for the upcoming hockey season.
Let’s meet the recruits:
Miles Gendron
Position: Defence
Born: 1996
Played: Rivers School, Massachusetts
Awards: Independent School League’s 2013-14 MVP, Sportsmanship award, League All-Star
Fun Fact: 74th ranked Central Scouting ranked player for 2014 NHL draft; Joining University of Connecticut Huskies hockey team for 2015-16 season.
Gabe Bast
Position: Defence
Born: 1996
Played: Red Deer Optimist Chiefs, Alberta AAA Midget Hockey League
Awards: AMHL Brian Benning Award for League’s Top Defenseman, AMHL Second Team All-Star
Fun Fact: Won Telus Cup Midget National Championship in Sault St. Marie, Ontario with the Chiefs
Brendan Barry
Position: Goaltender
Born: 1997
Hometown: Kelowna
Played: Okanagan Rockets, Okanagan Hockey Academy
Fun Fact: During the Telus Cup playoff rounds, he had a 3.200 GAA. His team won bronze in the playoffs.
