Teenager accused of shooting security guard in Tennessee

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A 13-year-old boy is accused of shooting a security guard in Tennessee.

Memphis police told The Commercial Appeal that the teenager was charged with attempt to commit especially aggravated robbery in the attack on a security guard at the Hillcrest Apartments on Sunday.

A police report says the guard was sitting in a vehicle when the boy pulled a white shirt over his face, opened the vehicle's door and started shooting.

Lt. Karen Rudolph says the guard fired back and shot the teenager in the foot.

Authorities say the guard has been released from the hospital. The teenager's condition is unknown, and it's unclear if he has a lawyer.
