INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis authorities are investigating the death of a domestic violence suspect who was arrested "without incident," complained of chest pain, went into cardiac arrest and died.

The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the man Friday as 36-year-old Herbert Seay. It said the cause and manner of death are pending.

Police said in a statement that officers responded around 9 p.m. Thursday to a domestic violence call after a teenager reported a man attacked her and her mother.

Officers arrested Seay on domestic battery "without incident or the use of force." He was reportedly "co-operative and willingly submitted to his arrest."

Police say they called an ambulance after Seay later complained of chest pain. They say he went into "critical cardiac arrest" inside the ambulance. Medics administered aid to no avail.
