STAMFORD, Conn. - A man who said he was defending himself when he was caught on video spraying gunfire into a crowd outside a Connecticut nightclub, wounding five people, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.
The Stamford Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/2x1tUbC ) 25-year-old Dayron Wills was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to first-degree assault charges last year.
Wills told the judge he feared for his life when he opened fire outside a Stamford nightclub in 2014. His lawyer said Wills was shot the year prior and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Prosecutors say the video showed a brawl around Wills, but no one was closer than 10 feet when he fired. Four men and a woman were wounded. Prosecutors say they were "completely innocent."
