Georgia teen accused of fatally shooting toddler on Easter

ATLANTA - A 15-year-old is accused of fatally shooting a 3-year-old who was asleep in his car seat on Easter Sunday.

DeKalb County Police say the unidentified Georgia teen has been charged with murder in the death of T'Rhigi Craig. News outlets have reported T'Rhigi's last name is Diggs. T'Rhigi was shot in the chest as his mother drove past a Texaco station in Atlanta.

Police initially suspected the toddler was a drive-by shooting victim, but learned through witnesses that the shot was fired from the gas station.

Police have said the boy's mom had heard a gunshot but didn't think anything of it until she realized he was unresponsive. She pulled over and called police. He later died at a hospital.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports investigators were still looking for another witness.
