A man was detained by RCMP today. A witness said the man was allegedly swinging a 10-foot pipe on Main Street.

A man detained by RCMP officers yesterday for allegedly swinging a 10-foot pipe into traffic remains at Penticton Regional Hospital.
No charges have been made against the unidentified 21-year-old male. He was brought to hospital for examination on Thursday after his detainment . Once released he will be further processed by the RCMP.

A man was detained today for swinging a 10-foot pipe into Main Street traffic.
RCMP officers detained the man in front of the Wholesale Club. The man was yelling and appeared intoxicated. His shoes were removed and he was hauled to his feet and put into a police car.
A nearby taxi driver said he saw the man alledgedly swinging the pipe and using it to poke at vehicles driving by. The police arrived and subdued the individual. The pipe the man was allegedly using was left at the scene of the detainment.
A police officer at the scene declined to comment.
