Unsettled weather this week in Okanagan prelude to summer-like weekend

A mixed bag of cloud, sun and rain this week is expected to give way to increasing warmth and sunny skies this weekend.

KELOWNA - A mixed bag of weather is forecast for the Okanagan this week, with the prospect of summer returning in full force just in time for the weekend.

Environment Canada calls for a 30 per cent chance of showers throughout the valley today, June 11, with highs ranging between 17 and 20 Celsius, with a chance of thundershowers possible in Kelowna and Vernon.

Tomorrow is expected to be mainly sunny with highs around 24 C.

Wet weather returns Wednesday and Thursday with showers expected across the region for both days. Look for a high of 20 C on Wednesday and 17 C on Thursday.

Get the sunscreen out and be prepared to hit the beach as the weekend approaches with Friday clearing to a mix of sun and cloud and a high around 23 C.

Saturday and Sunday gets even warmer with sunshine both days and highs of 27 C on Saturday and 29 C on Sunday.
