PENTICTON - An early morning stop at a local eatery cost a Penticton resident his vehicle last week.

Police spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says a blue 2016 Kia Soul was stolen from the parking lot at Denny’s Restaurant at 3:40 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, after two women sat down, uninvited, at the table occupied by the vehicle’s owner.

Video surveillance footage revealed the women taking keys while at the owner’s table, he says. The two 20-year-old suspects are known to police.

Wrigglesworth says the vehicle was found abandoned about 21 kilometres up Ashnola Road west of Keremeos on Aug. 20. No damage was apparent.

Police continue to investigate.
