Under the big top: Circus with a Latin flair coming to Kelowna

KELOWNA - A big tent international circus is coming to the Orchard Park Shopping Centre parking lot in Kelowna to entertain families and raise money for the B.C. Children’s Hospital.

Based out of Las Vegas, The American Crown Circus & Circo Osorio is on a cross-Canada tour and will put on seven Big Top Show performances in Kelowna starting, Thursday, Aug. 29, according to a media release.

The circus, named after the Osorio family who founded it in Mexico in 1927, features talent from Mexico, Chile, Belarus, Russia, Argentina, Romania and the US.

“Witness our internationally renowned cast that features: the catapulting strength and artistry of the Dragmir Troop; an out of this world lazer light experience that combines the lights and high energy music of Eduardo the Lazerman; defying the laws of gravity from high above the arena floor, the Belarus Triple Eagles; zany Circus Clowns and much more,” states the release.

Performances are at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, skip Friday then there are three shows Saturday at 3:30, 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. followed by two more on Sunday at 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Admission is $25, which includes two children under 10 for free. Additional children are $10 each.
