Two more people have died from COVID-19 in the Interior Health region in the last 24 hours.
A resident of Noric House in Vernon has died bringing the death toll at the long-term care facility to five. A person in the community or a hospital has also died.
Since the start of the pandemic, 57 people have died in the Interior Health region.
“I know people are fatigued by the impact COVID-19 on our day-to-day lives,” Susan Brown, president and CEO of Interior Health, said in a news release today, Jan. 21. “However, the ongoing challenges of this pandemic shows us we need to continue to be vigilant and compassionate. We all need to do our part to reduce the risk of COVID-19 in our communities.”
Noric House now has 34 residents and 21 staff members who have tested positive for COVID-19, an increase of four people since yesterday.

Three more people at the Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre in Kamloops have tested positive for COVID-19 along with two more staff members at Heritage Square in Vernon.
